From an economic perspective, online gambling has a very bad impact, online gambling often promises big profits to players, but in reality many people experience losses, which should be the money that can be used for needs and interests but instead is misused, this is the result of players who are addicted to online gambling, and this is what can trigger poverty, debt, even criminal acts such as fraud, theft, just to finance gambling habits.
From the social side, online gambling is very influential because the social impact of online gambling is that it can damage harmonious family life, where many cases have shown that people who are addicted to online gambling will cause family conflict, divorce, and social isolation. Online gambling also causes the younger generation to have bad moral values, this is the reason that online gambling is very dangerous. This social impact causes not only to show that online gambling is entertainment but online gambling is a threat to us.
Our solution now to stop online gambling is of course with our own awareness first that online gambling is a prohibited act that is clearly explained in Article 303 of the Criminal Code. Of course, also with strong law enforcement because there needs to be strengthening of regulations to be able to block online gambling sites, law enforcement must be more provocative in tracking and prosecuting the perpetrators behind the online gambling platform.***
